We try new things on our own projects first.
Labs is where we build our own products and take apart new tools. Nothing here started as client work. If something turns out to be fragile or badly thought through, we would rather find that out on our project than on yours.
We use what we build.
A studio can go a long time building only what it has already built before. We would rather keep a few projects around that we don't yet know how to finish: agents holding state across long tasks, hardware talking over links that drop, interfaces that rearrange themselves. Some of them will fail. The ones that work reach a client project with us already knowing where they break.

A few times a year we take on someone else's idea the same way we take on our own. The bar is high. It has to need real engineering underneath, and you have to know the industry better than we do. If that sounds like what you're sitting on, we will consider building it with you for equity.
